News from Elloughton Village Hall Committee Number 2 May 2025

You will notice 2 changes to the village hall.  We have had new external doors fitted replacing the very well used ones.  So now they are draught free and improve the appearance of the hall.

The small kitchen off the main hall has been completely refurbished.  For many years it has been used as a storeroom and was badly insulated.  The kitchen is available for the use of everyone hiring the hall.  I am sure when you have a look you will be very surprised at the difference.

Our programme of energy conservation is continuing as we now have a quote to insulate the meeting room accessed through the large kitchen.

Hall improvements and maintenance; we are hoping to have the building repainted inside, it is many years since it was last done.   Also, we hope to have all the toilets refurbished something else which has been neglected.

All these works are very costly so we are busy applying for grants from various sources to help with the costs.

We now have a fully working microphone which can be requested by anyone hiring the hall.  We also hope to get a large screen again for the use of clients.

We have now welcomed the Brough Youth Club to the hall; their classes are held on a Friday evening.  If anyone wants to join or is interested in helping, please contact Colette on 07835 761827.

We are hoping to arrange a number of different functions not only to raise funds for the hall but also to provide a pleasant afternoon or evenings entertainment for all the residents of Elloughton and Brough.

Next year, 2026 will be the 90th year that the village hall has been in existence, so we are hoping to arrange a celebratory function.  If anyone has any details of events held at the village hall during the past 90 years, we would be very grateful to receive a copy.
